Medical Forms Required for Julian, Summer Camp, OA, High Adventure Outings

Posted on May 19 2017 - 5:06am

It's that time of year where we need to update and turn in Medical forms to cover us for the next 12 months. Please see attached Medical Forms A, B and C again if needed. All Scouts and adults should have already turned in an updated A & B form by the 5/8 meeting along with a copy of the front and back of their medical insurance card which will cover them for the Julian campout. If you are a new Scout, you already have turned in Forms A & B so you are good to go. If you are an older or new Scout or adult going to Summer Camp at Mataguay, or going to participate in Order of the Arrow campouts or are planning to attend a long term outing or high adventure activity, you are ALSO required to visit a doctor and have the doctor complete and sign Part C of your medical form and turn it in by 6/5. You can go to your family doctor or you can visit Dr. Anu Sathya (Nakul's mother) who has graciously offered to do medical checks at her doctor's office this Saturday 5/13 from 10am to 11am. The address is 2083 Compton Avenue, #105, Corona, CA 92881. All completed medical forms should be turned in to Ellen Schwartz by the deadlines outlined above. Thank you!!

And it's time to stake your claim on the "GOLDEN" Spoon where Troop 1613 Patrols will need to create any dish for Saturday night that ties in with the theme of "Mining or GOLD Mining." We will be visiting the historic hard rock gold mine from 1870 at the Eagle Mining Co. on Saturday morning. http://www.theeaglemining.com/. We also have an amazing group campsite in a forest of oaks and pines at William Heise County Park which is situated 4,200 feet above sea level along the northern region of the Cuyamaca Mountain Range. http://www.sdparks.org/content/sdparks/en/park-pages/WilliamHeise.html

CONGRATULATIONS TO TROOP 1613 AT PORTOLA DISTRICT CAMPOREE!

Posted on Apr 28 2017 - 9:52pm

The amazing scouts of Troop 1613 won TOP TROOP, BEST CAMPSITE and BEST 24 POLE GATEWAY at the Portola District Camporee this past weekend at Firestone Scout Reservation! There was a lot of hard work and great scout skills from our scouts that allowed them to take all of these top awards. Also special thanks to our fantastic adults who attended this weekend to support our Troop including Mr. Hildebrandt, Mr. Steadman, Mrs. Cornelius, Mr. Goldstein and Mr. Mouleart. In honor of these great accomplishments, the Troop will be having a Pizza Party and Game Night at the 5/8 meeting. Troop will provide the pizza and we ask that each Troop 1613 family bring a drink or snack/dessert to share for the Scouts to enjoy on 5/8. Yours in Scouting!
