It has a great mix of mountain, desert, beach, canyon and lake locations with all of the above mentioned activities and many more especially at Summer Camp. Super excited to announce that Troop 1613 is heading to Mataguay Scout Ranch in Santa Ysabel for Summer Camp in 2017!. We will be there the week of 6/25 - 7/1/17. Mark your calendars and check out the attached Leaders Guide from 2016 to see all of the cool activities and merit badges they offer at this Summer Camp. More info and details to come.

Look forward to seeing you all at the Troop 1613 Beach Day at Huntington Beach this Saturday, 9/17. Please wear your Troop 1613 t-shirts! In addition to a fun day at the beach with volleyball, sand castle building, frisbee, football, FREE BBQ/food, campfire and riding the waves, we will be joining the efforts of the Surfrider Foundation on the official California Coastal Cleanup day by helping pick up some trash on the beach in the morning. This will be a great opportunity for all of our scouts to get some community service hours toward their next rank and help keep our local beaches looking great.

Troop 1613 is heading out to the Colorado River for a canoe trip through beautiful Topock Gorge 9/23-9/25. We will be camping and departing from Park Moabi down through Topock Gorge to Castle Rock Bay. Topock Gorge is the crown jewel of the 37,515-acre Havasu National Wildlife Refuge, the last remaining untouched natural portion of the lower Colorado River before it reaches the Gulf of California. Affectionately known as the “Baby Grand Canyon,” this red rock cleft of sheer volcanic walls, secluded sand beaches and wildlife-filled marshes is a beginner paddler’s nirvana.

Hello all - In light of the recent Court of Honor and the upcoming outings in September, we will forgo Boards of Review for this month.

October Boards will be held at the regularly scheduled time (October 17th Regular Troop Meeting)

CALLING ALL BIKERS! Get ready to ride as we trek down to Newport Dunes on 8/20 for an overnight campout at the beach and chili cookoff. Please turn in your permission slips and money by the 8/15 Troop meeting.
